Thyme Homestay's host family members

Colleen has lived in Japan for the past one and a half years. It took her
one year to get adjusted to life in Japan but now she is sad to leave.
She would like to thank her friends and the many kind people who welcomed
and
supported her and Eden. While in Japan Colleen taught English at two
language schools, privately at her home and she marked Eiken examinations.
She holds a
Tesol
and Toefl teaching certificate as well as an international teaching license.
Colleen is very fond of matcha tea and matcha shortbread cookies. She
finds
Japanese culture to be very beautiful. Opening a homestay allows Colleen
to share memorable experiences with Japanese travelers. She wants to
give people a safe and wonderful stay while they explore British Columbia.
Colleen
loves the outdoors and nature. She worked five years within Kokanee Glacier
Park as a park facility caretaker and naturalist. Colleen loves hiking,
snowboarding, gardening, cooking and traveling. She hopes to travel to
France in the near future but in the meantime she decorates the house
in a French
style decor, Colleen looks forward to having you in her home and will
make your visit special.

Eden is a kind and happy person. Eden makes friends even on the train and
people are drawn towards his sweet nature. He is 9 years old and he
gets along very well with adults. He attended Sendagi School and it was
a great experience for him. He would like to thank his teacher Kazumi
and the rest of the kind staff at school for treating him so well and
accepting him. The children and their parents made a sincere effort to
help Eden
and
for this we are very thankful. Eden will miss his friends and attending
school in Japan. Eden was modeling while in Tokyo and he would like to
thank the wonderful girls at Sugar and Spice modeling agency in Hiroo.
The photo
shoots and video were a lot of fun for Eden and he learned a lot. Eden
loves anko and many foods in Japan except octopus. He will remember the
kind boys
at Starbucks in Tsukiji. It’s the greatest Starbucks in Tokyo with very
friendly service. Eden will try to remember the Japanese that he has
learned and will continue to study Japanese. He enjoys skiing, soccer,
writing stories,
drawing and reading. Eden’s favorite books are Harry Potter and Lord
of the Rings. He is very bright and can carry on amazing conversations
with adults. Eden has a captivating smile and he looks forward to meeting
new
people.
